The four developmental stages of your plant

In this article, we discuss the four developmental stages of plants and what you can do to give your plants the best nutrition and protection during each stage.

1. The seed

Every plant originated from a seed. The seed contains all the nutrients to grow a seedling. When the seed germinates, one part will search for light, the other part will later become the root system of the plant. Once outside the shell of the seed, this little root will immediately start looking for the substances it needs. These are water, vitamins and other micro-nutrients. The more these substances are present during the germination phase of your plant, the stronger and larger the mature root system will become.

While your seeds are sprouting, you can aid the germination process by soaking the seeds in a micronutrient solution for about half a day. You can also use the same solution during the first start of root growth, for example in the dish or in the soil in which you germinate the seeds.

2. The seedling

When the seedling gets true leaves, we call it a seedling. Seedlings often get their own small pot in which to develop further. That is the second function of potting soil: to provide extra nutrients that promote the growth of the young plant.

In nature and in open field cultivation, organic materials are converted into substances such as nitrogen and phosphorus during the so-called mineralization process. To additionally stimulate the roots of your seedlings, add a little Bio Rootbooster to the water during this phase. This ensures stable growth, increases resistance to diseases and increases the absorption of micro-nutrients.

Nitrogen? Naturally!

As your plants get bigger, they will need more and more nitrogen. One plant needs more nitrogen than the other. If the leaves of your plants are no longer beautifully green, this is probably due to a shortage of freely absorbable nitrogen.

When you notice that your plant is becoming lighter in color, you can 'fertilize' with Cellmax BIO 8-2-2. This is a unique organic fertilizer. 3. The growth phase

When your plant gets bigger, you can repot to a larger pot or to the open ground. You can continue to use Cellmax BIO potting soil for this. After a while, the release of nutrients from the potting soil will decrease. The potting soil becomes 'exhausted'. Additional fertilization is then necessary.

You can start with Cellmax Bio Grow immediately after repotting. Then you know for sure that your plant gets all the necessary nutrients. In this phase, your plant can always use something extra.

4. The fruiting phase
